How Loud Are You?

Do you see “leaders” speak loudly to get their point across? That’s ‘okay’ if that is their style.

Are you a little more “reserved” when speaking to groups?
If that is your own personal style, keep with it.

As leaders, we need to be authentic, true to ourselves. To be any different is to lose credibility with our team.

Instead of volume, we can use pauses, gestures or visuals to help make our points.

If you have a naturally soft voice, trying to get louder may cause vocal strain or an unnatural shrillness. User your ‘softer’ voice to draw everyone in.

Consider This…
– Practice making key points using other methods
– Practice speaking slower and emphasizing key words
– Practice all of this away from your work environment
